Tewkesbury Borough Council has granted planning permission for 144 new homes in the attractive Gloucester suburb of Innsworth. The development will be built by leading 5 star homebuilder Barratt Homes and will make up part of the wider Whittle Gardens development.

The development will be made up of a range of properties including 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes that offer generously sized family focused living areas, as well as energy saving conveniences. Forty nine of the houses and apartments will be designated as affordable housing.

The suburban location allows for spacious living without compromising on convenience, with excellent public transport connections as well as being close to local pubs and supermarkets. Gloucester railway station is only a 15 minute drive away and there is easy access to the city of Gloucester, Gloucester airport and the M5. For those who continue to work remotely, many of the properties offer the option to create a study or office space.

The development is also close to a variety of good Ofsted rated primary and secondary schools and is just a 15 minute drive to local colleges. The development also includes extensive areas of open space and sport pitches, whilst also sitting adjacent to the neighbourhood play area.

Barratt Homes is committed to sustaining and protecting local wildlife on its developments and neighbouring green spaces. Not only will Barratt Homes retain the surrounding trees and hedgerows along the boundaries of the development but will also include where possible features such hedgehog highways and swift boxes.

Groundworks are due to start in later this summer, with the first homes ready to move into later this year. The development will contribute to the wider Whittle Gardens development and joins a number of other great Barratt Homes developments. Each of these have a strong and inclusive community presence in the Gloucestershire area, including Great Oldbury near Stonehouse which is currently on sale.
