3 people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following 2 raids on properties in Ryde this morning (Monday), with Police locating a knuckle duster and a stun gun at the first address.
Officers conducted a warrant at an address in St James Street at around 08:00, smashing down the front door of a residential property.
A search was carried out and subsequently a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs and being concerned in the supply of Class C drugs. A 28-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs.
A second 28-year-old man, who was also located in the property, was arrested for an unrelated matter on suspicion of assault and theft.
Police say that a knuckle-duster and stun gun – which are considered offensive weapons – were also found in the address and have been seized.
It’s understood that another address in Ryde has also been searched today, resulting in a 27-year-old male being arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs.
All 4 men remain in custody at Newport Police Station at this time.
Enquiries are ongoing say Hampshire Constabulary.
