Four Lubbock-based companies are planning to expand, creating 500-plus jobs and investing a combined $11.4 million in capital in the area economy, they announced Wednesday.
Lubbock Economic Development Alliance CEO and President John Osborne joined with company leaders during the announcement at LEDA’s headquarters on Broadway in downtown Lubbock.
The four companies introduced during the event were SIMFLO, VXI Global Solutions LLC, Starnik Systems, and CEV Multimedia.
SIMFLO, a leader in the vertical and submersible turbine markets, is expanding its current facility, adding an additional 35,000 square feet of production, storage, office and training space.
The company also announced the construction of a new, enclosed testing facility in Lubbock, which will be one of the largest test pits in North America.
They announced the creation of 12 full-time positions. This expansion will have a collective $5 million impact on the Lubbock economy.
VXI Global Solutions LLC is an international company which designs and supports customer engagement platforms. The company is creating over 350 new jobs with an hourly wage starting at $16.50. The company has been in Lubbock for 14 years.
“Over the last year, since I’ve come here to Lubbock from Huston, Texas, our number one goal is to really change the culture of our center and change the way we impact our people that work for us,” said Byron Johnson, director of site operations at VXI Global Solutions LLC.
Starnik Systems, headquartered in Lubbock, is on a mission to deliver next-generation technology to the global utility industry.
To meet the growing demand for technology after the COVID-19 pandemic, Starnik announced the development of their new 20,000-square-foot headquarters building located in southwest Lubbock.
This expansion represents a capital investment of $5 million into the Lubbock community, and will bring nearly 75 new jobs ranging from entry-level specialists to executives.
“We have a Texas Tech and other fine institutions that’s producing a lot of exceptional talent. And we are offering you, the talent pool, an opportunity to work right here in Lubbock,” said Starnik Systems CEO Balu Viswanatham.
CEV Multimedia, a multimedia company which produces and provides Career & Technical Education content and instructional materials for both students and teachers, announced the creation of 89 new Lubbock-based positions, and adding over $229,555 of capital investment into the Lubbock community. The company also announced plans for facility improvements to its 11,670-square-foot building.
