National property consultancy, Carter Jonas has sold a residential development site at Hanging Heaton, just outside Dewsbury in the Yorkshire borough of Kirklees. The 4.35 acre (1.76 hectare) greenfield site has detailed planning consent for 55 homes of which 11 will be affordable properties.

Following a competitive tender process, Vistry Partnerships, which specialises in creating vibrant, sustainable communities, was selected as the preferred bidder.

The site is situated to the north east of the high street within the West Yorkshire village. It is approximately 7 miles from Leeds, 4 miles from Wakefield and 1.5 miles from both Dewsbury and Batley, with Dewsbury providing a regular train service to Leeds.

Deemed ‘highly sustainable’ by the Council, the greenfield site is bounded by trees to the east and open fields to the north. It is connected to the village to the south and west.

Andrew Poyner, Managing Director of Vistry Partnerships Yorkshire commented, “We are delighted to have secured the Hanging Heaton site for our latest mixed tenure community, with homes for sale under Vistry’s trusted Linden Homes brand and affordable homes available from our partner Leeds Federated.”

Work is due to start on site in April 2022 and the homes are likely to be marketed from this November.
