Metis Homes has received the green light by New Forest District Council to build a boutique collection of brand new homes at Burgate Acres just north of Fordingbridge Town Centre – bringing much needed housing to the local community.

With an emphasis on high quality design and landscaping, the Hampshire based housebuilder has secured planning consent for 63 homes ranging from one-bed apartments to four-bed houses, including Affordable Housing – providing a good range of accommodation for first time buyers and families. The cottage style residences will be arranged in a variety of forms to include detached, semi-detached and short terraces, and will be constructed to complement the natural surroundings of the area. In addition, each property will have an electric car charging point in the parking area, whilst some of the detached houses will have solar panels.

Named Forest Edge, the scheme will also incorporate discreet on-site parking, mature landscape setting, a large open space at the heart with a dedicated dog exercise area, wildflower planting, footpaths and cycleways, informal grass ‘kick-about area’ and natural play area, creating an exciting new addition to the neighbourhood and attractive outlook to help encourage families and friends to get close to nature.

Metis Homes will also deliver a new access point via Salisbury Road to the east, incorporating improved vehicle access arrangements for the adjacent Burgate School and a new school drop-off point for school buses.

Construction is expected to begin this summer by Metis, with Phase I launching off-plan at the same time and homes expected to be ready to move into from spring/summer 2023.
