Global consultancy AlixPartners has purchased international advisory firm Galt & Company. The move will provide new opportunities to Galt & Company, as it looks to expand its client base, while AlixPartners will use the move to offer a new line of services.

With the acquisition, AlixPartners has announced the launch of Corporate Strategy & Transformation. The service combines Galt & Company’s expertise in financial, strategic, and organisational improvement with AlixPartners’ deep industry and functional subject matter expertise.

Simon Freakley, CEO, AlixPartners, commented, “At a time when disruption continues to be the foremost concern of corporate leaders around the world, our combined capabilities and expertise will help AlixPartners’ clients create significant value in today’s complex and uncertain environment.”

Founded in 2003, Galt & Company helps CEOs and their management teams develop the strategies and organisational capabilities that deliver and sustain superior growth in shareholder returns. The firm has offices in New York, Chicago, London, and Singapore, from which it helps deliver shareholder returns for clients around the world – something that Freakley asserted was in close alignment with AlixPartners’ premium, results-driven, action oriented proposition.

Speaking on the news, Scott Gillis, Senior Managing Director, Galt & Company, said, “We are thrilled to be joining the AlixPartners team and are very excited about the results our complementary offerings and expertise will deliver to current and future clients. I am equally optimistic AlixPartners General about the new opportunities for our people to serve an expanded, global client base with a more extensive portfolio of services.”

All Galt & Company team members have joined AlixPartners as part of the move, which closed on December 31, 2021. Willkie Farr & Gallagher acted as legal counsel to AlixPartners, and Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan acted as legal counsel to Galt & Company.

Founded in 1981, AlixPartners is a results-driven global consulting firm headquartered in New York. It has offices in more than 20 cities around the world. In the UK, it has recently been looking to expand its footprint, with regulatory changes meaning the dominance of the professional services industry’s Big Four is gradually being opened up.
