Insurance broker Willis Towers Watson announced the appointment of Chris Heinicke as head of Casualty in Bermuda, reporting to Kirsten Beasley, head of Office, Bermuda.

Heinicke joins Willis Towers Watson from Aon Bermuda, where he served as the managing director and team leader, overseeing the casualty broking unit.

In his new role, Heinicke will be responsible for leading the Bermuda Casualty team, giving clients access to the global marketplace as part of its Global Markets Direct & Facultative line of business, which includes all aspects of client service, development of market-leading risk solutions, product development and new business growth.

Chris brings over 25 years of extensive industry experience and his appointment demonstrates our commitment to a solution-oriented and innovative approach. KPMG UK Promotes Jones as Head of Insurance Practice

KPMG in the UK has appointed Trevor Jones as the new head of its insurance practice. He replaces Simon Ranger, who will now focus on leading the vice chair’s office.

Jones has more than 30 years of insurance experience and has spent 24 of those with KPMG. He previously led the firm’s UK actuarial practice. His extensive experience across the insurance industry means he has a deep understanding of the current issues affecting UK and global insurers, said KPMG in a statement. He will lead KPMG’s team serving clients across the insurance spectrum, including insurers, reinsurers and brokers.

“I would like to congratulate Trevor on his appointment and thank Simon for all his achievements over the last three years. Trevor brings a wealth of experience having joined our insurance team over 24 years ago and is well respected among our colleagues and clients,” commented Karim Haji, EMA and UK head of financial services at KPMG.

Miller Hires King from Howden to Lead Marine Expansion in Singapore

Miller, a London-based independent specialist re/insurance broker, announced the appointment of Nick King, who joins to lead the expansion of the broker’s marine offering in Singapore.

King brings with him extensive relationships and vast knowledge, developed over 15 years operating in the London and Asian markets. King’s focus will be on bringing this highly developed knowledge and reputation for innovation to bear for Miller in Asia. King’s hiring follows the recent arrival of Ron Whyte as head of Strategic Development in Singapore and forms part of Miller’s wider growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region.

King joins from Howden Specialty Asia Pacific, where he was most recently a Divisional Director. Prior to that he held positions at JLT Re and Aon Singapore.

“Asia-Pacific represents a key market for Miller’s future growth and growing the business’ marine offering in the region will be key to this. Nick’s hiring will enable us to do this, as he works alongside our well-established Singapore team to provide solutions for clients,” commented Phil Wheeler, head of Marine.
