What will I be doing?

You will work as part of a professional project management team assisting the Project Manager in all aspects of the design and/or installation of a permanent track warning system. In conjunction with with the Project Manager, Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) you will manage the design and installation programme ensuring process are followed to maximise both design and construction output. Ensuring designs and supporting deliverables are reviewed, submitted and approved in line with the agreed design programme. Liaise with Operations and Civils in order to coordinate effective use of access supplied by client to execute installation. On a day to day basis your duties will involve:

  • Assisting with the planning and implementation of projects.
  • Assisting with the project scopes defined by the Project Manager.
  • Planning and scheduling project timelines from conception to handover.
  • Ensuring adherence to Quality assurance procedures.
  • Accurately managing project administration, including all documentation.
  • Accurately keeping commercial and financial matrix’s up to date as per the project requirements.
  • Attending client MS Teams calls, taking minutes, updating relevant trackers and executing any actions that result from this.
  • Reviewing finance sheets ensuring purchase orders are in place for activities being supplied to the client
  • Ensuring the accurate and immediate signing of timesheets upon completion of works in order for invoice to be raised.
  • Managing client relationships.
  • Tracking project performance.
  • Reporting project performance both internally and externally.
  • Ensuring that processes and procedures are carried out in line with Group policies and maintaining accurate and efficient order to invoice process against all required timescales.
  • Ensuring safety is delivered throughout all aspects of the organisation to the highest standards
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to utilise skills and knowledge to achieve company objectives and targets for increased sales and growth.

What experience would we like you to have?

Ideally, the successful candidate will have some previous experience of project management, although this is not essential. Applications from graduates are welcomed, particularly those in project management, civil engineering or construction. Strong administration and IT skills are essential for this role as is the ability to be able to drive legally in the UK.
