Barclays today announces that it has appointed Jason Constable as its new Head of Real Estate for Corporate Banking.

Jason initially joined Barclays in 1990 and worked for 15 years in Corporate and Investment Banking, including stints in Dubai and Australia.  After a brief spell at Platinum Equity, a US-based private equity fund, he re-joined Barclays in 2006 working in both European Real Estate Finance and Corporate Structured Finance.

Most recently, Jason was responsible for establishing and leading Barclays’ Specialist Real Estate Team focusing on high-complexity transactions at a client and portfolio level.

David Farrow, head of client coverage for Barclays Corporate Banking, said: “Jason brings more than 30 years’ financial services experience and a wealth of expertise in the Real Estate sector to this key role.  He will lead the growth of our business, centred on building our lending book across all sub sectors, with a particular focus on residential development financing, including the continued deployment of The Housing Delivery Fund in conjunction with Homes England.  His track record will be essential in continuing to drive forward our Real Estate proposition so we can carry on delivering for all our clients”

Jason replaces Dennis Watson who retired from the bank at the end of April after 35 years at Barclays.
