Intellectual property assets belonging to the former Blitz Communications Ltd have been put up for sale by Metis Partners, an intellectual valuation firm based in the UK. Blitz Communications, one of the most high-profile event technology firms in the UK, entered liquidation in August 2020 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Its technology assets have already been put up for online auction by business and assets disposal specialist Gordon Brothers in November last year.

In a new sales document relating to the intellectual property assets of Blitz, Metis Partners says it is offering the opportunity to:

  • Acquire the brand and trademarks underpinning one of the most recognisable AV specialists in the UK with over 30 years of brand exposure in the production and events industry;
  • Resurrect and relaunch an industry-leading brand that was owned by and associated with GES, one of the largest events management companies in the world;
  • Leverage the extensive brand awareness of Blitz in the industry from its association with some of the UK’s largest venues including ExCel London, Natural History Museum and Saatchi Gallery.

Founded in 1989 and bought by GES in 2014, Blitz worked across the full range of live events. It was the onsite technical production partner in venues across the UK, including ExCel, the NEC, Olympia London, Manchester Central and The Brewery. It was in addition, a preferred supplier at prestigious London venues such as The Science Museum, The Saatchi Gallery and The Design Museum.
