Chester Business Club announce ‘top pro’ as new vice chair

Chester Business Club have announced their new vice chair as legal professional, Aaron & Partners’ Jan Chillery.

Mrs Chillery, who started at Aaron & Partners over 20 years ago as a trainee solicitor is now the Insolvency Partner of the Legal 500-ranked company, specialising in business recovery and turnaround for both corporate and private individuals.

The prestigious Chester Business Club has looked to give a voice to Chester business since it was founded in 1987, raising over £1 million for charities in the process. Its new vice chair said she was “honoured” to be given the role.

“It’s a really exciting opportunity to get more involved in Club management. My focus as vice chair is to get to know members as well as I can. I want to find out what more we can do as a club and how members can help each other.”

Mrs Chillery added: “Chester Business Club is a great organisation, warmly social and firmly promoting business in Chester. It provides a voice for the business community.

“Throughout my career, I’ve always had a strong social ethic and really enjoy communicating with businesses, helping individuals and companies and getting involved in things.”

“Being appointed to this role feels like a natural progression for me and I’m looking forward to playing a big part in the future of the club.”

Roy Shelton, the current chair of the Chester Business Club, will hand over the role to Mrs Chillery one his two years’ service is completed in July 2023.

Mr. Shelton said: “This fantastic club gives local business leaders the chance to join a ‘big tent’ organisation to which they want to belong, rather than one they feel they have to belong.

“The Chester Business Club is at the heart of the city’s business community. With her brilliant track record and reputation, I can’t think of anyone better suited than Jan to take on the role of vice chair and then chair once I have completed my two-year period of office.”
