Greetings Conversion Copywriting Genius,

We’re looking for a conversion copywriter who wants to evolve into a full-stack growth marketer for ecommerce brands.

My name is Darryl and I’m one of the owners here at the Visual Economy.

This is a super important role for us so I’m taking a moment to personally explain who we are, what we are looking for and the requisite skills/experience.

About The Visual Economy

We grow purpose-driven ecommerce brands.

Don’t confuse this with likes, clicks, followers, websites, awareness campaigns, PR, or influencers.

Put simply, we help brands go from their current level of financial performance to their desired level of financial performance by implementing online growth strategies.

So what are purpose-driven brands?

They balance the profit motive with a purpose to deliver better outcomes for customers, workers, suppliers and the planet.

Think natural skincare, ethical fashion, sustainable products. 

We want these brands to succeed because the world won’t survive if we keep exploiting the crap out of it.

Our business has two units — a services agency to catch fish for our clients and an online training program that teaches clients how to fish. Sustainably…of course.

About the role

The scope to grow in this role and attain a level of mastery is massive.

As a conversion copywriter, you will initially support our agency clients by writing “copy that sells” across all of our sales funnels.

You will work directly with clients or the in-house team to build value-driven marketing assets that push more traffic, convert more sales and deliver a measurable return on investment.

This begins with deep market research and translates into persuasive messaging for ads, emails, sales pages and product pages.

BUT this is only a portion of what you’ll be doing.

While conversion copywriting is your core competency, the role evolves very quickly into full-stack growth marketing:

  • market research: who is the customer and the competition?
  • media buying: managing and optimising ad accounts
  • email marketing: building email automation
  • sales funnels: creating product landing pages for traffic
  • conversion rate optimisation: boosting conversion rates across every step of a funnel
  • analytics: interpreting and managing data
  • content creation pipelines: identifying what customers should see and getting content partners to shoot it
  • client management: keeping your clients happy

Think of it this way. Just like engineering emerges out of mathematics, growth marketing emerges out of conversion copywriting.

If you want to stick to copywriting only, this role won’t be for you! 

Your level of experience

We don’t put much stock in certifications. It’s all about results. That’s how we’re judged. And that’s how we’ll judge you.

So to cut to the chase: can you demonstrate prior conversion copywriting results where you increased sales, leads, open rates, click-through rates, opt-in rates etc?

Experience in other areas of growth marketing outside of conversion copywriting will be looked on favourably but is not essential as we will provide all the training you need to become a pro.

  • Positive energy. People feel energised, inspired and motivated to be around you. This is IMPORTANT. Nobody’s perfect, but if you’re likely to be a drain on the collective’s emotional bandwidth, you’re not the right fit.
