You might consider it to be on the wrong side of the Pennines, or even right on the border of the historic dispute between Lancashire and Yorkshire. However you might view the geography, a flat has gone up for rent with simply stunning views.

And if you’re eyesight is up to the task, or you can squint, you can even see the skyscrapers of Manchester City Centre from the front garden according to Yorkshire Live.

Located in West Yorkshire, Knoll Top Barn sits around 300 meters above sea level and less than a mile from the Pennine Way. The barn itself has been transformed into flats and now you have the chance to reside in one of the two-bedroom apartments after it became available to rent.

The first-floor flat, above Walsden, near Todmorden, is available for around £875 per month with the unique selling point of views of West Yorkshire, Lancashire and, of course, Greater Manchester.

Looking southwest from the garden, you can follow the steep-sided Walsden Valley in Littleborough, Lancashire and across to the tall buildings of Manchester. The visual offering gets even better if you take a few steps further up the hill as it’s possible, on a clear day, to see the telescopes of Jodrell Bank radio telescope in Cheshire.

You may have to zoom in somewhat in this photo but you can see some of Manchester city centre’s skyscrapers from Knoll Top Barn

But what of the flat itself, having all the views is all well and good but only if you have the apartment to back it up, and this one does without a shadow of a doubt.

Inside the flat is reasonably well-appointed and spacious and it’s easy to see why the Darwin family, who own the property, never have a problem getting a long list of people who want to rent it out.

However, it’s not all good news, if you are the lucky person, or people, to call it your home, you’ll have a bit of trek on your hands just to get to the front door. Your weekly shop will have to be hauled up half a mile’s worth of track unless you have a car. Even then your vehicle will be best suited to be a four-wheel drive capable of completing the task in all weather, especially once the snow hits.

But if your need is for peace, quiet and breath-taking scenery all from your bathroom window while you clean your teeth, then this could be the place for you. Yes, you’d officially be living in Yorkshire but the place they call ‘God’s own county’ isn’t all bad!
