Senior Copywriter

Salary £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience.
37.5 hour working week.
We’re recruiting for an experienced senior copywriter to join our award-winning PR, marketing and digital team based in the South West.
You’ll be writing creative, dynamic and incisive copy for DCA’s varied range of clients ranging from corporate businesses and public sector organisations to leading brands and consumer-facing companies.
You’ll already be a skilled writer with experience of producing well-written and engaging content for various platforms, and have a proven ability to translate complex issues into readable copy.
You’d be confident in crafting SEO-enabled copy for blog posts and websites as well as producing attention-grabbing media releases and concise content for various social media platforms.
The role would best suit an experienced journalist or seasoned PR copywriter with a track record of working in the PR, journalism, marketing or communications sectors. You would need to be comfortable writing copy for a range of corporate and consumer-facing clients, including professional services companies in fields such as legal, accountancy, business, banking and public services.

Main responsibilities include
- Researching and writing high quality copy, blog posts, news releases, features, newsletters, social media posts, adverts, brochures and websites
- Interviewing clients and associated stakeholders
- Drafting media releases and press statements
- Producing SEO optimised content when required
- Translating complex issues and documents into readable copy
- Writing detailed content for corporate and professional services companies, including legal, banking and accountancy clients
- Understanding differing tone of voice for B2B and B2C comms, and writing appropriate copy for varying industry sectors and marketplaces
- Writing concise and attention-grabbing social media content
Skills required
We’re looking for a highly creative, self-motivated person able to work under their own initiative with established copywriting abilities and an understanding of B2B and B2C comms.
Essential:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Skilled in the field of public relations, journalism, marketing or communications
- Experienced at writing content for news media
- Experienced at writing SEO-enabled content for online platforms
- Understanding of all social media platforms
- Excellent writing skills with excellent attention to detail and excellent use of English language
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good interview technique
- Be able to travel independently around the South West
Desirable
- Experience working in PR, journalism, marketing or communications sectors
- Skilled in social media account management
- Understanding of digital marketing
