Big Four firm Deloitte has announced its mid-year promotions in Australia, with 35 new partners to be admitted into its consulting partnership.
Professional services giant Deloitte will admit 70 new partners in its upcoming mid-year intake, with half of those members of the firm’s consulting division, including in subsidiaries Monitor Deloitte (strategy consulting) and Deloitte Digital (digital transformation).
The additions, which take effect on the 1st of July, follow the 16 new partners who were elevated at the beginning of the year among 43 promotions in total. The latest appointments bring Deloitte’s total partnership to around 900. They lead a team of around 10,000 fee earning professionals and staff working from eleven offices across Australia.
“Being promoted to partner is a truly significant career milestone, and I am really excited to welcome 70 diverse and talented individuals to the Deloitte partnership,” said Deloitte CEO Adam Powick, who took the helm in April following the early departure of former chief Richard Deutsch. “I vividly remember a similar day for me 18 years ago and the emotions and excitement that come with an announcement like this.”

Of the remaining promotions, 12 were made in Deloitte’s Audit & Assurance division, 14 were spread across its Financial and Risk Services departments, and nine were in Tax & Legal and supporting roles. With the firm recently highlighting the especial workplace setbacks faced by women due to Covid-19, just under half of the new partners are women, with 31 in total. The proportion of female partners at the firm now sits above 30 percent.
Last month, Deloitte was named one of Australia’s top companies to work for by LinkedIn.
