A BRADFORD estate agency is aiming to retain its crown as the UK’s leading land and new homes specialist after being shortlisted in the property industry “Oscars”.

Linley & Simpson has beaten hundreds of entries to get through to the finals of The Negotiator awards for the third successive time. The firm operates a network of 21 branches across Yorkshire and The Humber, including Main Street, Bingley; and Brook Street, Ilkley.

Its Land and New Homes team finished runners-up in the 2018 awards before striking gold the following year. The 2020 awards were postponed as a result of COVID-19.

The winners of each category will be revealed at a gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane on November 26.

Amid the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, the past 12 months have seen the team deliver a year-on-year increase in turnover of 52%; sell a record number of new homes year-on-year – 306, up from 211; and elevate the average sold price of a new home to £425,834, up from £354,714.

Linley & Simpson has broken new ground after winning contracts to work with North Yorkshire County Council’s development arm, Brierley Homes, plus a growing number of housing associations, such as Latimer and InCommunities.

It has continued to work with a range of Yorkshire developer clients such as Wharfedale Homes, Loxley Homes, Harmby Homes, Oakapple Homes, Kyme Homes, and Olbe Developments.

The team has also extended its geographical footprint by expanding into new territories, such as Sheffield, Hull and a number of Pennine towns.

Director of Linley & Simpson Land and New Homes, David Waddington, said: “These are the property industry’s most prestigious awards and we are thrilled for our team of people to be shortlisted yet again.

“There is no shortage of home-grown talent and skills across our department and we are pleased that this is reflected on the national stage where again we will be flying the flag for Yorkshire.”

Now in their 14th year, the awards are organised by The Negotiator magazine and celebrate the best-in-class across the industry.

A panel of more than 20 judges, comprising many of the sector’s leading figures, scrutinise each entry.

Awards organiser Grant Leonard said: “The significance and importance of the awards is reflected in the high quality and quantity of entries we’ve seen this year, proving that the industry is thriving and positive, despite the challenges presented by COVID-19.

“Our judging process is the most robust, open and transparent process of any property awards, meaning that winning really demonstrates to the industry and your customers that you are the best.”
