Hull commercial property specialist Garness Jones is completing its own move.

The long-standing firm is expanding, relocating from Beverley Road to Hull’s waterfront.

It will occupy the three-storey Riverside House on Nelson Street, neighbouring the city’s historic pier, having acquired the building.

Managing director David Garness said: “As a business which specialises in helping people get the best from their investments into properties, we are delighted to be moving into such a fantastic location right on Hull’s waterfront and close to the thriving Fruit Market community.

“Being on the waterfront and close to the Marina was a big attraction for us, as it would for any business.

“Our business has long-established links with the Marina and Fruit Market, from representing market traders many years ago to managing the residential development now, so it seems a natural home for us already.”

It comes as a new parent company is established, Garness Group, overseeing the ongoing work of Garness Jones and two more specialist property businesses.

Garness Jones’ Beverley Road home for the past 19 years. A deal is close to completion to let it out following the move.

Gro Residential Management, which provides property management services to professional residential landlords, and Pure Block Management, which offers management services for leasehold owners, freeholders and developers of residential developments, will also be based at Riverside House.

Mr Garness said the businesses had collectively outgrown the existing premises, home for the past 19 years.

“We recently announced our plans to restructure and rebrand to allow our three specialist property business areas to grow independently, under their own identities, whilst all operating under the collective strength, experience and guidance of the Garness Group,” said Mr Garness.

“When we moved into the Beverley Road premises in 2003, the business was only really focussed on commercial property, but we saw the premises as a base from which we’d be able to expand our team and grow our interests.

“That has happened and it has been a great base for us for almost two decades, but given our continued growth, and having expanded into having three very specific areas of work in commercial and residential property, we needed more space and offices which allow all of our teams to have their own space to grow, whist continuing to work together closely.

“Our new premises will be ideal for this as they provide a mix of open office spaces where we have been able to place teams close together as their work naturally crosses over, with a number of breakout areas and meeting pods for wider discussions.

“The premises also provide smaller offices and work areas which are ideal for the administration staff who look after all of our businesses as part of the group, as well as key facilities such as high quality meeting rooms.

“We could have up to 30 people, working for three businesses, at any one time in our office, so having the right environment is vital.”

Garness Group launches on April 4.

A deal is also close to completion on the letting of the Beverley Road office by Garness Jones -with potential occupation as soon as May.
