Floral tributes to 33-year-old Scott Cooper, who was killed inside a flat in Ryde earlier this month, have been callously destroyed.
Since news of Scott’s death, flowers and messages of love have been laid by family and friends directly outside the murder scene in George Street, as a mark of respect.
Police had been in attendance for 11 days with forensic investigators conducting fingertip searches of the property in a bid to piece together the events that led to Scott’s death. Officers finally left the scene yesterday (Friday) with the cordon removed.
Sadly, the tributes left by those who cared for Scott have been ripped apart and left spread across the pavement in what appears to be a malicious act – just hours after Police left the area.
When the news broke that Scott Cooper had been killed, not everyone showed sadness. Although no one deserves to die and such a disrespectful act shouldn’t be carried out, this may explain the decimation of tributes to him.
38-year-old Piers Brazier has been charged with the murder of Scott Cooper and will next appear at Winchester Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 14th March 2022.
2 others arrested in connection with the murder – a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old man – have both been bailed by Police as investigations continue.
