Ghislaine Maxwell’s much younger husband appears to be ready to move on following her conviction today after skipping the entirety of her sordid sex trafficking trial in favor of frolicking with a new gal pal.

Tech entrepreneur Scott Borgerson, 46, secretly married 60-year-old Maxwell in 2016, but the union was kept secret even from their closest friends and family until it was revealed by prosecutors in bail hearings.

Maxwell now faces 65 years in prison after being convicted of helping the late sex predator Jeffrey Epstein traffic minors for sex, and Borgerson seems to have put the relationship in his rear-view.

Despite his offer to post a $25 million bond to secure Maxwell’s pre-trial release, which the court rejected, Borgerson’s name has not been mentioned throughout her three-week trial, and he did not attend the proceedings in Manhattan.

Instead, Borgerson has been spotted in the company of a new female friend in the elite New England enclave of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, where he keeps a $2.4 million mansion that he once shared with Maxwell and his two children from a prior marriage.

DailyMail.com was the first to reveal the possible new flame when Borgerson was photographed with her in the Massachusetts town in late November.

She has since been identified as Kris McGinn, a local journalist and yoga enthusiast. McGinn, 49, covers food and cultural trends for the 133-year-old local newspaper the Manchester Cricket.

When approached by a DailyMail.com reporter last month, McGinn declined to confirm or deny a relationship with Borgerson. The millionaire entrepreneur also rebuffed a reporter’s questions, saying: ‘Leave me alone, you’re harassing me.’

In 2015, Borgerson’s 14-year marriage to his first wife, Rebecca, exploded spectacularly when she learned of his affair with Maxwell.

‘Rebecca and Scott seemed like a really nice couple. But as time went on, he was very preoccupied and would be on his cell phone a lot, presumably on business calls. He was away a lot for work,’ a source close to the family told DailyMail.com.

When the marriage finally crumbled, divorce records paint a disturbing picture of Borgerson, with accusations of him being physically violent, abusive, ‘extremely controlling’ and having an alcohol problem.

Borgerson, who married Rebecca in Palm Beach, Florida, in May 2001, once allegedly threatened her, saying: ‘Don’t make me beat you in front of the children.’

The source said that Borgerson revealed his affair with Maxwell in a stunningly cruel manner, after telling Rebecca he was going to London on business and he would send videos.

‘Rebecca watched a video of him and although he said he was going to be in London, he was actually in Miami with Ghislaine,’ the source said.

‘Rebecca was sitting there with her two young children watching this video of Scott and Ghislaine hugging and kissing. Rebecca was devastated. Things quickly fell apart after that,’ they added.

After he took up with Maxwell, Borgerson reportedly reveled in the access to power and wealth that the connection brought.

A former Coast Guard officer, Borgerson founded  he shipping data company CargoMetrics in 2010, taking it to a reported valuation of $100 million by 2016.

Prior to Epstein’s arrest on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019, Borgerson’s connection with Maxwell apparently opened the door to new corridors of power.

At one Manchester cocktail hour, he boasted that he and Maxwell had just enjoyed lunch with Bill Clinton, ‘just the three of them,’ according to the Daily Beast.

Suddenly Borgerson was mingling with the cream of the elite, attending events hosted by Jeff Bezos and attracting high-powered financial backers for CargoMetrics, including former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and billionaire hedge funder Paul Tudor Jones.

He even upgraded his $15,000 Volkswagon to a gleaming new Tesla, according to Business Insider.

For a time, Borgerson and Maxwell apparently shared a happy home life, with Maxwell moving into his secluded seaside mansion and even helping to raise Borgerson’s two children, a son now age 14 and a daughter now 11.

The happy couple shared Borgerson’s mansion in Manchester as well as a $1.2 million luxury condo in Boston’s chic Beacon Hill.

But it all came crashing down after Epstein’s arrest in 2019, which sent Maxwell into hiding, and forced Borgerson to step down as CargoMetrics CEO when his connection to her was revealed.

Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 in a secluded mansion in Bradford, New Hampshire, about an hour’s drive from Borgerson, who would reportedly visit her on the weekends with his children.

The two children were heartbroken by her arrest because they thought of her as their ‘proxy mother’, Maxwell’s spokesperson Brian Basham previously told DailyMail.com, saying: ‘They had been living in perfect harmony until this broke.’

In 2019, DailyMail.com photographed Borgerson walking Maxwell's dog in Boston, shortly after she was revealed to be living in the quiet town of Manchester-by-the-Sea with him

Borgerson only revealed his marriage to Maxwell after the arrest, when he offered to contribute $25 million to a $30 million bond package, alongside $5 million from the socialite’s siblings, to secure her release for Christmas 2020.

However, prosecutors claimed that Maxwell was in the process of divorcing Borgerson upon her arrest, arguing against the notion that her marriage tie would prevent her from fleeing the US if granted bail.

‘The fact that the defendant’s spouse has only now come forward to support the defendant should be afforded little weight given that he refused to come forward at the time of her arrest,’ the filing states.

After his attempts to secure bail for Maxwell were denied, Borgerson has gone to ground, appearing only sporadically running errands in Manchester, where many neighbors are rumored to consider him persona non grata.

‘Every time I see him, I give him the middle finger,’ said a man whose relative is the property manager of the 40-acre estate where Borgerson lives. ‘But I don’t see him around much anymore.’

But there are also indications that Borgerson may have moved on with his personal life. A source told DailyMail.com that Borgerson has been dating McGinn

McGinn is said to be going through a divorce from husband Wesley Straub and hangs out with Borgerson on weekends when she doesn’t have her children.

She had written for the Cricket under her married name Kris McGinn Straub until mid-2020, when her byline changed to simply Kris McGinn.

She refused to confirm or deny a relationship when approached by DailyMail.com.

The New York Post reports that she popular with the town’s ‘mommy scene’ and may have bonded with Borgerson over their shared love of dogs.

Borgerson was last spotted on a balmy Thursday afternoon in November, when he pulled up to an oceanside liquor store in a fancy sports car, walked in and purchased two packs of Marlboro Lights.

‘I tried to chat him up, but he wasn’t wanting to engage in conversation at all,’ the clerk told DailyMail.com. ‘He came in and out with what he wanted.’

After emerging from Harrigan’s Fine Wine & Spirits, Borgerson, sporting a blue face mask and Patagonia jacket, darted toward his $100,000 Tesla Model S as a DailyMail.com reporter approached.

‘Leave me alone, you’re harassing me,’ Borgerson whined, grabbing his cell phone and pointing it at the reporter as if to document the ‘harassment.’

The wealthy entrepreneur refused to answer questions as he jumped into his electric car and sped off, retreating to a life of seclusion that he’s struggled to maintain since last year, when his 14-years-older wife was arrested by the feds and accused of procuring young girls for pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Borgerson bought the home in Manchester-by-the-Sea in June 2016. After Maxwell moved in, they were unable to find peace in their community. Neighbors were so disgusted when they discovered in February 2019 that an accused sex trafficker was living among them that they tried to harass her into leaving.

‘They felt sex trafficking and pedophilia are the most disgusting things in the world and they wanted them off the property,’ one resident said.

It led to a court case where Borgerson successfully fought the neighbors’ decision to prevent them from using paths and a beach near their oceanfront property, part of an estate shared by other owners.

But the decision was not handed down until after Maxwell, 59, had already fled for her new life of seclusion in neighboring New Hampshire.

Another resident who has met both Borgerson and Maxwell on numerous occasions told DailyMail.com that Borgerson often talked about his dream of becoming President of the United States.

‘His relationship with Ghislaine has pretty much scuppered that — and I’m glad,’ he said.

‘He is personable, very bright and intelligent, but he is an extreme narcissist, totally in love with himself, money and power.’
