DCP, Central Zone, Aparna Rajat Kaushik said that they disclosed that they had duped over 350 jobseekers in the name of sending them to gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia. They further disclosed that they had taken the passports of several candidates with them to realize the money they used to charge from each of them.
Earlier, a victim of fraud, Arbaz Siddiqui of Sultanpur district had lodged a case with the police on April 16. Siddiqui had alleged that he met Santosh Kumar while looking for a job in gulf countries. “Santosh told me that he used to send the jobseekers to gulf countries with the help of his aides. I fell into the trap and gave Rs 35,000 to him at his office at Shagun Palace and later transferred Rs 15,000 to his bank account. He asked me to meet on April 12, but his phone was switched off on that day. Santosh and his aides had done a moonlight flit after collecting the cash from me and other victims,” the complainant had said.
