Barratt London is launching a new phase at its popular Springfield Place development at Tooting Bec, South West London SW17. Honeysuckle House comprises just 20 new apartments spread over four storeys, with every home having a spacious open-plan living area and a balcony or terrace.

Due to complete in winter 2022, Honeysuckle House is expected to be extremely popular, especially with first time buyers who have snapped up homes in earlier phases after being priced out of neighbouring Balham and Wandsworth.

Barratt’s Springfield Place development will eventually feature 232 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, and two and three-bedroom houses, forming part of the wider 82-acre Springfield Village. Bordering leafy Wandsworth Common, and effectively connecting Tooting Bec to Earlsfield, the new urban village is being developed around Springfield University Hospital, an elegant red-brick Tudor-style building that has served the community for 175 years. Eventually the Grade II listed building itself will be sensitively restored and converted into apartments, allowing the NHS to fund modern facilities nearby.

Honeysuckle House is close to Springfield Place’s new plaza, Chapel Square and a short walk from the new 32-acre park with seating areas, a pavilion café and a play space. The apartments all have individually designed contemporary kitchens with soft-close doors and drawers, available in a choice of colours with matching worktops and upstands. A good selection of appliances, including a dishwasher and fridge-freezer, makes life easier for buyers, who will also be pleased to discover that flooring is provided throughout, including floor and wall tiles in the bathrooms. Every two-bedroom apartment feature both a family bathroom and an en suite shower room for convenience.

Pam Reardon, Sales & Marketing Director for Barratt East London, says: “We are expecting the properties at Honeysuckle House to be snapped up extremely quickly. They are in an ideal Zone 3 location, with fast and reliable travel connections into central London Tooting Common, home to Tooting Bec Lido, the UK’s largest freshwater swimming pool, is less than a mile away, as is Tooting Leisure Centre for those who prefer a warmer swim!

Residents of Honeysuckle House will be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out. The Michelin-starred Chez Bruce, overlooking Wandsworth Common, is a 15-minute walk away, and offers top end French cuisine, while in the opposite direction the 200-year-old Castle pub on Tooting High Street boasts a beautiful covered and heated beer garden, while you can choose from restaurants from around the world in the surrounding streets.

What’s more, the popular Soho House chain is opening a new restaurant under a mile away in nearby Balham. It will be the first in South London.

Pam continues: “Tooting’s famous market is only a 10-minute walk, passing a wide range of shops, restaurants, and a supermarket. There is something here for everybody; families will love the fact that there are 2,000 acres of public open space in the surrounding area, including the park, trim trail, ponds, and community garden including in Springfield Village itself.”

Getting around London couldn’t be easier for residents. Tooting Bec Underground station is just a nine-minute walk away and has services to London Bridge in 18 minutes. Alternatively, Earlsfield railway station is 20 minutes on foot with national rail services heading to Waterloo in 13 minutes. When Crossrail arrives nearby, at either Tooting Broadway or Balham, journeys will be even faster.

As a whole, Springfield Place has 450 secure bicycle storage spaces, as well as 152 car parking spaces available at an additional cost.
