Homes with a guide price of £50,000 or less are going under the hammer at auction this week.

Dozens of properties, across Merseyside, are up for auction with the Liverpool-based estate agents Sutton Kersh.

More than 150 homes are up for grabs across the North West, with 90 of them being in Liverpool and a further 26 being from the wider Merseyside area.

Associate director of Sutton Kersh, Cathy Holt, says that around a quarter of the properties available to go under the hammer this week have already sold prior to auction.

The auction will take place on Thursday, May 27 and it will be live streamed with an auctioneer. For more information visit Sutton Kersh.

Ms Holt said: “We have Sold over £3.5 million worth of property prior to our auction on Thursday. This equates to 25% of Lots offered in our catalogue.”

The two bedroom middle terrace is in need of modernisation but is suitable for investment purposes with potential rental income of approximately £5,400 per year.

52 Holmes Street, in Toxteth also has a guide price of £45,000. This property is a one bedroom house and while it doesn’t require any major refurbishments there is a shorthold tenancy agreement in place producing a rental of approximately £5,000 per year.

Another property that falls short of the £50,000 mark is a two bedroom terrace on Diana Street, in Anfield.

After some upgrade and modernisation work, the property would be ‘ suitable for investment purposes’ with a potential rental income in excess of £6,000 per year.

There are also a number of properties that have a guide price of £50,000.

Ms Holt added: “I think vendors have seen how competitive the property market is right now and see the value in purchasing terraced houses that are vacant or let, for investment purposes.

“The starting price of £5,000 means these properties are accessible to everyone to purchase.

“They are getting good return on investment for these types of properties you have mentioned and currently there are not enough of them to meet the demand, especially here in Liverpool.”

The homes with a guide price of £50,000 include two bedroom terrace properties on Stonehill Street (Anfield), Ripon Street (Walton) and Scorton Street (Tuebrook).

Each of the properties have a assured shorthold tenancy agreement producing up to £5,600 in rent per year.
