The Covid-19 vaccine is now being offered to all over-18s in England, as the roll-out of the first dose nears its completion.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Monday that the target of offering all adults their first jab is being brought forward, from 31 July to 19 July.

That is the same day all remaining lockdown restrictions are set to be lifted, following the four-week delay.

In a bid to reach this target, a series of mass vaccinations events have been announced across London this weekend.

Here is everything you need to know.

North London

Haringey

Haringey Council is working in partnership with the NHS and Tottenham Hotspur FC to host a mass vaccination clinic at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 20 June.

Covid-19 vaccines will be available either on an appointment or walk-in basis, subject to availability, between 10am and 6pm.

Between 3,000 to 5,000 vaccinations are expected to be administered on the day.

Brent

Bridge Park Community Leisure Centre will be making 2,700 vaccines available on Saturday 19 June between 10am and 5.30pm.

The event is available to all residents aged 18 or over, whether they need their first or second dose, with Pfizer/BioNtech and Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccines available.

A special feature of the event will be that those requiring a second dose can have it just four weeks after their first jab, rather than having to wait the usual eight weeks.

Residents can reserve their appointment here or simply walk-in on the day.

The ground on Fulham Road will be open between 10am and 7.30pm, with patients advised to register in advance, although walk-ins will also be accepted.

The Olympic Park stadium in Stratford, home of West Ham United, is offering pre-booked first doses only on Saturday 19 June.

Those living in Barking and Dagenham, City of London, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest must register before attending the stadium, with appointments taking place between 10am and 8pm.

Newham mayor Rokhsana Fiaz urged residents to take advantage of the clinic, as only 27 per cent of her borough’s residents have had both doses.

Charlton Athletic’s ground The Valley is set to make a day of it on Saturday, with vaccinations available between 8am and 8pm on Saturday 19 June.

The first 1,000 people to get vaccinated on the day will also receive a free ticket to a Charlton Athletic football game, with more prizes available on the day.

Football fans will also be able to take a pitch-side selfie and get a glimpse of the famous stadium usually only experienced by professional players, while a “full programme of content” is lined up for the big screen.

The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine is on offer for those aged 40 and above. Those below 40 will require a clinical assessment first, while those who had their first vaccine eight weeks ago, but have not yet had their second, are also invited.

There’s no need to book for this drop-in event, which will take place in the North Stand Fans Bar.

Danny Thorpe, London Councils Executive member for Health and Care and Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: “Getting vaccinated pitch-side at a famous football stadium will be a unique and memorable experience so please take advantage of this offer.

“It’s not too late to get vaccinated. We need you to help make sure this lockdown is the last.”
