Own a piece of TV history! Stunning rainforest pocket which featured on the first season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! UK hits the market

Three undeveloped parcels of land which featured on season one of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! UK have hit the market on the Cassowary Coast in Queensland.

On Wednesday, realestate.com.au confirmed that the stunning rainforest pockets are now available to buy either as a bundle or individually, with expressions of interest closing at 4pm on Thursday, September 30.

Located against the backdrop of Koombooloomba National Park, the area – filled with natural waterfalls, streams and unrivalled landscapes – was the backdrop to the reality show in 2002.

While the series is one of the biggest in the world today, only eight celebrities took part during its debut year including magician Uri Geller, singer Darren Day and glamour model Nell McAndrew.

Radio presenter Tony Blackburn was crowned king of the jungle that year, while late socialite and presenter Tara Palmer-Tomkinson took second place.

The combined 1,127ha property was once part of the King Ranch aggregation, but now neighbouring blocks have been purchased and transformed into banana, sugarcane and grazing operations.

Marketing agent Stacey Quaid said of the land: ‘The high value natural amenity represents a tranquil slice of the famous Far North Queensland rainforest.’

She added that each of the three parcels boast their own natural features.

Lot 35 she says is ‘heavily forested’ with both Kooroomool Creek and Stony Creek passing through, while lot 34 benefits from stunning views over Echo Creek.

Lot 114 is the most substantial, covering a whopping 629.55ha.

Since 2003, the UK season has been filmed in a former banana plantation in Murwillumbah, New South Wales.

However in 2020 it was confirmed that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the twentieth series would be filmed in Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales.

It will remain there for the 2021 season, due to uncertainty around international travel.
