Investigation launched after shooting at property on residential street

Police have launched an investigation after a shooting at a property in Salford.

Just before 11.30pm on Saturday evening (June 19), officers were called to reports of a firearm discharge at a property on Anson Street, Eccles.

Having attended the property, officers located damage to a door of a property that was said to be consistent with that of a shooting.

People inside the property at the time of the incident were unharmed and no injuries have been reported.

No arrests have been made.




Enquiries are ongoing with a scene remaining in place.

Detective Inspector Rebecca Mills of GMP’s Salford district, said: “Thankfully those inside the property at the time of the discharge were left unharmed but this could have had a much more serious and devastating outcome.

“A full investigation has been launched into this incident and we’re following multiple lines of enquiry to identify those responsible and ensure they’re brought to justice.

“We’re currently appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or witnessed anyone or any vehicles behaving suspiciously at the time of the incident.

“If you believe you have information, no matter how small, that could assist our investigation then please get in touch.”
