Katie Holmes stepped out to run a few errands in New York City on her 43rd birthday on Saturday.

The actress made the most of the crisp morning air as she sported an eye-catching outfit while taking in all that the Big Apple had to offer on her walk.

Holmes stayed warm in a plaid long-sleeve and jeans after it was announced she’s in  the development stage of a project in which she is set to both star in and produce.

Development on the project was initially reported by Deadline this past March, when it was made known that the actress would produce and star in the project.

The upcoming feature is based on former Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks’ autobiography, The Watergate Girl: My Fight For Truth and Justice Against A Criminal President, which was published earlier this year.

The author, who currently works as a legal analyst for MSNBC, gave a statement to the media outlet to express her excitement about the forthcoming project.

‘I’m excited to be working with Katie Holmes and am both honored and humbled to have my experience as the only woman on the Watergate trial team shared on the big screen,’ she said.

The writer also pointed out that the themes that were explored in her autobiography were still applicable in modern times.

‘Though it was almost 50 years ago, the story of our investigation and trial remain compelling and relevant to current events and the sexism reflected in my story reverberates today,’ she stated.
