According to the report, the commonwealth had the largest change in percentage of the population quitting their jobs, from 3.1% in July to 4.5% in August.In terms of raw numbers, Kentucky had 58,000 people leave their jobs in July. In August, that number rose to 84,000, meaning an increase of 26,000 individuals who left their jobs.The commonwealth saw the largest increase of people quitting their jobs in August, only behind Georgia and Illinois. Kentucky qualifies as the largest overall due to its smaller population of 4.4 million compared to Georgia’s 10.6 million and Illinois’s 12.6 million.According to a report from CBS News, by comparison, about 1.7% of workers in Washington, D.C. quit their jobs in August, marking the low amount of people quitting their jobs among all states recorded in August.The number of people quitting increased in 14 states in August, and nationally, the number of those who quit increased by 240,000 people, according to the report.
