A leading SE of England estate agency Miles & Barr has significantly grown its territory and business with two acquisitions.

The purchase of Rogers & Hambidge and Brettsletts enables Miles & Barr to enter the mid-Kent property management and block management markets for the first time, and marks a ‘decisive moment’ in the company’s history.

Simon Thompson, Lettings Group Director at Miles & Barr Group (main pic), says: “The purchase of Roger & Hambidge is an exciting venture for us because it has 150 years of block management know-how and it is this knowledge that adds a complementary and exciting specialism to Miles & Barr’s proposition.”

Rogers & Hambidge’srogers king estate agency now former owners, Jo and Paul King (pictured) will continue to contribute to the business on a consultancy basis.

Thompson says his estate agency also wants to focus on building up its property management capability over the coming years, which is the reason for buying Tunbridge Wells-based Brettsletts which he says was an “unmissable chance to establish our presence in and around the town”.

“Both acquisitions create a business first for Miles & Barr and we are excited to see them contribute to the steady and ambitious expansion of the company,” he says.

These two additions to the Miles & Barr follow the acquisition of Advanced Lettings in 2020.

Estate agency Miles & Barr, which saw a management buyout of the founders last year, has three letting branches in Thanet, Canterbury and Dover, as well as 12 sales office across East Kent.
