Significant call Diakite made on partner’s phone

Mr Unsworth says “something significant” happened at 01.25.

He says at 01.25 Miss Elliot-Cleverley’s phone became active again. But it wasn’t her using it. It was the defendant. He called his support worker Celia Cole.

The court hears he left a message: “Hi, err this is her number, this is her number, so sorry if you have [sounded like time] erm you can call me and um ask me everything to you because, I don’t know.”

At 01.49 he called his support worker again and left another voicemail: “Can’t talk to somebody….[inaudible]….can help you, sorry for everything this girl couldn’t handle it, she has been very, very sore for me, everytime I a explain lot of story to you how she had been so….[something]….on my brain, I don’t know I have nowhere to go complain.

“I could not handle her. Please, tomorrow if you get this message make sure you call me if my number didn’t go through er come to the house, if you come to the house, if you do the door can be opened you can call the, the police to come to the house, so sorry for everything I know you have been help me but this girl, I could not live for all the stress, I could never live with this stress, that was the main thing, sorry for everything, thank you for all the help.”

Mr Unsworth says: “The ‘girl’ he was referring to was N’Taya. She had now undoubtedly been subjected to a vicious attack by the defendant.”
