Northern Ireland couples and event hosts have a new luxury venue to add to their options list as Magheramorne Estate on the Antrim coast officially launched.

nd already the new kid on the block has a packed diary of events and weddings.

When 2021 draws to a close, Magheramorne will have hosted 43 weddings. A further 49 are scheduled already for 2022.

Meanwhile, everything from celebratory suppers to a ‘Love is in the Air’ Valentine’s event, Immersive Theatre and more events are filling up next year’s diary.

The venue — a 19th century estate — includes a restored Grade B listed stately home with 35 en-suite rooms and space to accommodate weddings of 10 to 180 guests as well as corporate events.

Over 40 acres of grounds, including a finely manicured garden, will play the backdrop to wedding pictures and events.

It will also pose as the setting for the venue’s first seasonal event, the festive Magic and Mistletoe Christmas trail at Magheramorne taking place from December 10-15.

The official opening of the estate was marked with a special event held by the Allen family, who own the property and who are also behind catering firm Jane’s Kitchen.

It was attended by Ireland rugby captain Rory Best, Mayor Councillor William McMcCaughey and Economy Minister, Gordon Lyons.

Thirty new jobs have been created in the creation of the new private event space.

Speaking at the event, Minister Lyons said: “This family business has been built up with much love, passion and hard work and the high-quality venue fits so well with the Northern Ireland Embrace a Giant Spirit brand. The beautiful 40-acre grounds surrounding the estate are also an excellent example of sustainable and regenerative tourism.

“As we emerge from the pandemic, consumer safety remains of paramount importance. Over the last year, over 2,000 businesses have been accredited under the We’re Good to Go scheme, including Magheramorne Estate. By working together, I am confident that we will recover tourism’s pre-Covid success and can, not only return to, but greatly surpass our record year of 2019.”

Jane Allen, managing director, JKS Magheramorne Estate, said: “My family and I wanted to use our expertise to build on what Northern Ireland already has to offer in hospitality and provide a beautiful luxury, private-hire estate. With over 33 years on the road catering all over NI and beyond, the dream of opening our own venue is now a reality!

“The past two years have been incredibly tough for our industry as a whole and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our investors, my family and our entire team for their dedication and hard work. Our staff at Magheramorne have been and are quite unbelievable in their support. I am delighted to be able to celebrate our official opening and I look forward to our next chapter.”
