Man earns £160 a day by standing in line for rich people – so they don’t have to

Freddie Beckitt, 31, said that as a Londoner, queueing comes naturally to him so he decided to turn it into a career and now he stands in line for other people

A man has become a professional queuer and earns his money by standing in line for rich people who don’t want to – and he’s making a killing doing it.

Freddie Beckitt charges £20 an hour to stand in line for other people, and he says it comes naturally to him as he’s a Londoner, and has queueing “down to a fine art”.

On a good day, the 31-year-old can earn up to £160, but he must have the patience of a saint as that means he’s stood in a line, barely moving, for a full eight hours.

Freddie, from Fulham, said that his best jobs are queueing for tickets to highly popular events, such as performances at the Apollo, for customers who are money-rich and time-poor.

Speaking to The Sun, Freddie said: “I worked eight hours for a job queuing for the V&A’s Christian Dior exhibition for some very well-to-do people around their mid-sixties.

“The actual queuing was just three hours but they asked me to collect their tickets too and wait for them to arrive, so I just had hours perusing the V&A museum being paid £20 an hour, it was great!”

Freddie’s clients vary from young families who are run off their feet to OAP’s – and he’s spent freezing winter nights in queues.

But, summer is his busiest season as so many more events are scheduled.

The lad advertises on Taskrabbit where he also advertises pet sitting, packing, errands and gardening.

He commented: “Honestly it came about by just stretching around here, there and everywhere, Taskrabbit enables you to list various different odd jobs and clients just select you from the roles you’ve listed.”
