Following the successful Australian version of Married At First Sight, this new UK series will follow eight couples as they meet for the very first time at the altar.
Mel Schilling, Paul C Bronson and Charlene Douglas will appear as relationship experts to help the couples navigate their happily ever after.
The marriages will not be legal, but a lifelong commitment to each other at a glamorous ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
The couples will be put to test after their luxurious honeymoon by moving in with each other and their fellow couples. From weekly dinner parties to recurring commitment ceremonies, their relationships will be put under intense pressure.
So, here are the singletons who will be saying ‘I do’…
Adam

Adam is an electrician from Doncaster.
He has never had time to find himself a proper partner, dividing most of his time between work and the gym.
According to Channel 4 Adam is super competitive. For the right person he’d not only make time for them, but would work hard at the marriage to ensure it’s successful.
His ideal match would ‘have nice eyes and be naturally pretty.’ They must be ‘ambitious, spontaneous, and positive.’
He said, ‘I’m forcing myself into the situation where I have to be with someone – I’m only going to take positives from it. Hopefully, I’ll find the right one.’
Ant

Ant works in business development in Manchester.
According to Channel 4, he is known to be the the centre of attention in every room he walks into and is a social butterfly.
He’s learnt the hard way to not take life for granted and wants to get better at being honest and opening up emotionally. Ultimately, he wants to be the good guy for the right match!
The perfect person for Ant is someone funny, bubbly, ambitious and up for adventure.
Ant said ‘The best that could happen is that the experts find me a match and it works out perfectly and find our happily ever after. The worst case is it doesn’t work out and I make some new friends and I learn a bit about myself as a person.’
Daniel

Daniel works in sales in Northern Ireland.
He is a spiritual force to be reckoned with. His infectious positivity will convince the most closed-minded person to open up and discuss the meaning of life.
Daniel wants to share his passion for hiking, meditation, cold water swims, and vegetarian living with others.
He revealed to Channel 4, ‘Married At First Sight UK is a big experience and quite nerve-racking in many ways, however, it is something that will allow me to shift my pattern in terms of relationships and it is a blessing to have the professional and scientific advice that will help me.’
Robert

Robert is a business protection specialist from Dorset.
Known to his mates as ‘Big Bob’, Robert is big in personality. Ready to entertain at the drop of a hat, he’s a fun-loving guy who’s desperate to share the limelight with his future partner, providing they’ll be able to get a word in.
Robert is after someone with a big personality who loves to have a laugh. Will he find the fun-loving match he is looking for?
Speaking to Channel 4 he said,’I want to have fun all the time, so I want someone who wants to go out and do things. Someone who is on my wavelength with how I look at life.’
Franky

Franky is a strength and conditioning coach in Dubai.
Channel 4 says this old-school military man is a strong, dominant leader who tells people exactly what he thinks.
Having fought for his country for 15 years and lived as an expat for 15 years in Dubai, Franky wants to find his soulmate who’ll be happy to join him overseas in Dubai.
He desperately wants to find someone who shares his morals and his beliefs.
He said: ‘All my life has been about challenges. I don’t like to do the normal. If anything is normal then I find it boring. I’m not captured unless I’m entertained and challenged – and Married At First Sight UK is a bloody big challenge.’
Matt

Matt is a charity worker from West Yorkshire.
After a messy breakup, which left him feeling heartbroken and needing to re-discover himself, Matt now feels like he’s ready and it’s time to find The One.
With a big verve for life, he’s a highly outgoing person who, in his limited spare time, goes to choir practice and has even performed in a Take That tribute band. This gentle northern soul constantly gives a lot of himself to others but admits he got lost in that and is now highly conscious that at his age he’s running out of time to have kids and settle down.
Speaking about his motivations for the show to Channel 4 he said, ‘The reason I’ve come onto the show is because I’m really wanting to meet that special person that I can start building a life with and have a family. I’m really excited.’
Jordon

Jordon is a personal trainer from Cardiff.
Jordon is a gentle and very positive soul, but people don’t often see that side and misjudge him.
He was raised on the traditions and values of his grandmother, and also strongly believes in God and spirituality. He would love to bring a partner home to meet his grandmother, but mostly he’s looking for someone with whom he can raise the family he never had.
According to Channel 4 Jordan said, ‘My happily ever after would be to learn stuff about myself that I didn’t know before. I want to become stronger as a person and to obviously walk away with a partner and with some new friends.’

Luke is a care home manager and a fireman.
Luke has the whole package – a respectable job, the house, he’s a perfect gentleman, and he’s a certified firefighter.
Problem is, he just can’t see any of that himself. His last relationship crushed his confidence and broke his heart and he’s spent the last year rebuilding himself. Now he thinks he’s ready to move on at this perfect junction in his life with someone who’ll love him for him.
Luke said to Channel 4, ‘I already have more in common with this person than I would do meeting them on dating apps or in the pub. Because they’ve done the same thing, they must be in a similar circumstance to me.’
Joshua

Joshua works in insurance in West London.
According to Channel 4, Josh has ambition, competitiveness and drive- which have all made him succeed at anything he turns his hand to.
He’d like somebody who can understand him, but also put him in his place sometimes. He’d like someone with a good balance between social and work life, who works hard, likes fitness, but also doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
Josh said, ‘I think marriage has always been on my cards, but I could never see myself getting on one knee, so this is a fast track! Sometimes I need to be kicked into the deep end so for me this is the start of a new chapter.’
Megan

Megan is a wellness coach from Stoke.
Megan is a constant entertainer and loves to sing, dance, and share her ‘good energy’ with everyone she meets.
Megan’s role is her dream job – she helps young children with their mental health.
It’s important that her partner is kind and polite and she would love them to be creative, ambitious and confident. Humour is top of Megan’s list – it’s essential that he makes her laugh and can make other people laugh too; she wants him to be able to walk into a room and light it up!
Megan revealed to Chanel 4, ‘My dating history is horrendous, I have terrible taste. Of course, it is a good option to get someone to do it for me. It just felt like an opportunity I couldn’t miss. Each step of the way has felt more and more right.’
Amy

Amy is a sports journalist from Cornwall.
Amy was raised in Cornwall by her parents alongside her grandmother who championed her 10-year glamour modelling career.
With sports in her genes, she soon made it her main passion in life and now works as a sports presenter, using various platforms to discuss football and her favourite team, Chelsea FC.
Amy told Channel 4 she sees Married at First Sight UK as an opportunity to finally try and let down her guard. She wants to learn what love is and take off the veneer of sassiness that has protected her from letting another person in.
Amy said, ‘With Married At First Sight UK, either I’m going to find the love of my life or I’m going to learn a really big lesson from it, which might lead me to the love of my life.’
Marilyse

Marilyse is a personal trainer from Yorkshire.
The elegant Marilyse describes herself as strong, switched on and very positive. This Yorkshire lass lives a very sporty lifestyle and fitness means everything to her. She needs an old-fashioned manly man who is full of passion and energy otherwise she gets bored.
She wants to find her teammate in life with who she can conquer the world with. The perfect guy for Marilyse would be a man who is strong-minded and strong-willed. She is looking for her best friend and soul mate.

Morag is the life and soul of every party. She learned that from ‘the best’, her dad, with whom she spent an unconventional upbringing between Essex and Ibiza.
