Slightly belated happy new year to all our cat lovers and supporters!

And we have some big plans for the year ahead!

One of our aims is to upgrade some of the pens our fosterers use – either adding electric or revamping, to make life more comfortable for the rescued cats who need them.

We are hoping to have an open day, held at the shop, where visitors will be able to learn about our shop and other fundraising, our rescue work, what we do and why.

Our outreach team will also be on hand to explain how we respond to calls for help from the public.

We are holding a kitty Valentine’s raffle as well as an Easter raffle, so we’re looking for lovely prizes for these.

Ideally, situations allowing, we are also considering some sort of joint animal charity event, recruitment, stalls, animal fun things to do and other features – hopefully with live music and a special guest or two!

As ever, we are full to capacity with unwanted, stray or abandoned cats, and ever need fosterers to care for them.

You can find out more about fostering and other voluntary positions on our website or by popping in our charity shop at 11 Torquay Road in Paignton.

We currently have some older cats looking for new homes.

Bereavement and being evicted are the reason for these poor cats to have lost their home.

We are finding more and more as years go by that it is difficult to find rented accommodation while owning pets.

We are putting together a helpful leaflet on things you can do.

Sadly, when home checking potential adopters, we now have to ask to see landlord permission for pets on the property – a sad state of affairs when you are paying them to have a home.

While we do have a waiting list for cats needing space, we always try to offer advice and work with other smaller local cat rescues to try to secure a place for a cat.

We work with South Devon Cats Rehoming and Hector’s House Residents.
