GM Development Update

Regenerating town centres has been a priority of Mayor Andy Burnham but have they benefitted as a result, and what is the role of the M60 suburban towns post-Covid? Will suburban settings see a surge in developer interest as working patterns change? What will be the next city region investment hotspot?

- LUCY WALLWORK, LUC | Has a track record of working for local authorities on a variety of green infrastructure strategies, as well as various other strategic planning work, including green belt assessments

- PATRICK KENNEDY, COLLIERS | Heads up the flexible workspace offering and provides expert knowledge to occupiers seeking flexible space and has developed extensive knowledge of the Manchester market and its operators

- PAUL KELLY, SCARBOROUGH GROUP | Is responsible for the identification and delivery of the group’s commercial and mixed-use developments and the day-to-day management of the group’s Manchester office.

- SIMON ISMAIL, SALBOY | In just four years Salboy, with its construction partner Domis, has delivered 1,300 apartments and townhouses across five developments in Manchester and Salford

- CLLR AROOJ SHAH, OLDHAM COUNCIL | Became leader of the council in May 2021 and has portfolio responsibility for economic and social reform, with priorities including delivering the council’s regeneration plan for town centres.

- AIDAN THATCHER, WIGAN COUNCIL | has a wealth of experience in urban and rural issues, with a current focus on town centre redevelopment such as the flagship Galleries 25 project.

- CAROLINE SIMPSON, STOCKPORT COUNCIL | Responsible for a growth + place agenda and leading a £1bn programme to redevelop the town centre. Recently her focus has been to establish the first Mayoral Development Corporation in Greater Manchester.
The event will consist of a mix of presentations and panel discussions, at the Science & Industry Museum in Manchester on Thursday 9 September.
Tickets cost £65 +VAT and include breakfast, lunch, refreshments and plenty of opportunities for networking.
