Princess Eugenie’s potential “arrangements” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been highlighted in the wake of updates on Frogmore Cottage. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s payments for their “official residence” were reported in the Royal Family’s annual finances release. ITV Royal Rota podcast host Chris Ship explained what information had been published regarding it.

He told listeners: “I feel like in 10 years we’re going to be doing the annual reporting accounts and we’ll still be talking about what happened with Frogmore Cottage.

“Frogmore Cottage is the official residence of Harry and Meghan.

“It is currently occupied by Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their baby August.

“We don’t know the arrangements that they have with the Sussexes.”

Mr Ship continued: “But it remains the Sussexes’ official residence.

“The Sussexes repaid £2.4 million back to the crown estate when they left.

“The money for the refurbishment costs went back to the royal finances.

“They also paid five months rent before they paid that money back.”

Having paid off the £2.4million renovation costs in full, the couple will still retain financial responsibility of the property.

When Harry came back to the UK for Prince Philip’s funeral, he stayed in the cottage.

Similarly, the Duke is currently quarantining at the residence in preparation for the Princess Diana statue unveiling.

Eugenie and Jack’s son, August Philip Hawke, is now four months old.

The royal baby was born on February 9.
