The property market is booming in the UK, with many Britons looking to move home. Demand for larger houses as well as gardens has been on the rise but the process of buying and selling a home can take several months.

“To beat the average sale time, you need to get as much exposure as possible on your property.

“As a minimum, your property should be up on all the main property advertising channels, including Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket.”

The expert explained other advertising methods including local newspapers and in the windows of local estate agents.

Colby added: “It’s also important to make sure your adverts are attractive, and targeted at the sort of buyers that are likely to be interested in a property like yours.

Having clear, professional photos may also make a property more appealing to potential buyers.

Recent research by MoveStreets found that property images are the most influential aspect of a property listing.

This is because it is important to set a good first impression.

CEO and Co-Founder of MoveStreets, Adam Kamani, said: “They say we eat with our eyes and it certainly seems that we buy homes with them as well, or at the very least, decide which ones are worth viewing in more detail.

“In the modern age, the internet has allowed us to consume huge amounts of information at speed and the digital viewing process is no different when it comes to surfing the portals for a property.

“While a homebuyer will set their initial search criteria around price, location and property size, the photos used to advertise your home are incredibly important and utilising them to their full potential could make or break the sale of your home.

“So when looking to sell, ensure you list with an agent who will invest some time in proper, professional photographs. Not someone that will whizz around in 10 minutes with a smartphone.”
