Police investigating the killing of Scott Cooper are tonight (Friday) searching a property in Ryde in connection with the ongoing murder investigation.
Forensics investigators donned in white suits have been joined by local officers in the search of the semi-detached address at Jellicoe Road.
Several units from Hampshire Constabulary arrived on the quiet residential street at around 20:00, with officers expected to remain on scene throughout the night and into Saturday morning.
It comes after the discovery of the body of 33-year-old Scott Cooper at a flat on George Street, Ryde on Tuesday afternoon, as previously reported by Island Echo.
His death is being treated as murder and 3 people have so far been arrested on suspicion of killing the Newport man. They continue to be quizzed by detectives, who also searched a property on New Street, Newport yesterday (Thursday).
Further developments are expected from Police in the coming hours and days as they continue to probe the circumstances of Mr Cooper’s death.
The Police’s response to the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct – thought to be in connection with a significant delay.
Officers remain in attendance at the murder scene in George Street, where flowers have been laid to respect the victim of Tuesday’s killing.
