Serial fraudsters arrested for duping over 100 people on pretext of offering jobs in Railway and FCI

Hyderabad: In a major crackdown, two people were arrested in Secunderabad for allegedly duping over 100 people of about Rs 10 crore on the pretext of offering them jobs in Food Corporation of India and Railways. The two accused were arrested by the police from a hideout on Monday in Secunderabad.

After receiving a tip-off, the Rachakonda SOT sleuths and Jawaharnagar police arrested the alleged serial fraudster P Bhaskar aged 57 and his accomplice K Ritesh Kumar aged 41, The Times of India reported.

Bhaskar is also allegedly involved in a money transfer fraud where he duped people to get his ‘foreign funds’ released from the Reserve Bank of India.

According to Rakachonda commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, the prime accused Bhaskar who was into liaison work and railway contracts in Delhi allegedly cheated several victims in Delhi, Telangana and other states.

By giving fake FCI appointment letters and false ID cards, the duo allegedly collected about Rs 93.5 lakh from 16 people in Karimnagar and Jawaharnagar.

After several complaints were filed, a case of cheating was registered by the Jawaharnagar police and to nab the accused, a special team was formed.

For job frauds in 2022, Bhaskar along with his associates was booked by Gandhinagar Police Station in Hyderabad, Ghatkesar in Rachakonda, Narsampet town PS in Warangal and Miyapur in Cyberabad.

After the accused were arrested, fake offer letters, two cars and Rs 9 lakh cash was confiscated by the police.

The commissioner also said that about Rs 10 crore was collected by the accused from West Bengal, Chennai, Delhi and Hyderabad.

“We will seek his custody to elicit more information about his activities and others in the gang,” the commissioner added.
