Sherman R. Bailey

FORESTVILLE — Sherman R. Bailey, 64, of Third Street, Forestville, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, due to complications from a bone marrow transplant.

He was born in Silver Creek, on Aug, 23, 1956, the son of the late Edward Lee and Nina I. (Corzett) Bailey.

Sherm was a graduate of Forestville Central School, class of 1975 and owned S.R. Bailey Dump Truck Service in Forestville, for 42 years. He was an avid tractor puller, winning many competitions, loved boating, enjoyed his family and friends and being a mechanic. Sherm loved working, enjoyed being with people and would help anyone who needed it.

Survivors include two daughters: Sara (Eric) Botticello and Ashlee Bailey, a son, Hunter Bailey, a sister, Judi (Ken) Lucas, all of Forestville; and a brother, Richard Bailey of Texas. Also surviving are his loving companion, Linda Hall; a granddaughter, Lili Botticelli; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Susan Hilliker, who died Nov, 18, 2018.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 11 a.m. from the Forestville Wesleyan Church, Prospect Road, Forestville, with the Rev. Andrew Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Forestville Cemetery.
