Wisconsin Republican makes comments during stop at Kwik Trip headquarters in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson says the current presidential administration is to blame for inflation and the worker shortage.
The Wisconsin Republican toured Kwik Trip’s headquarters in La Crosse on Tuesday, part of his trip to visit businesses in several counties.
While in La Crosse, Johnson said he supports a reduction in unemployment benefits to reduce the worker shortage, but says he does not support the government helping families find child care.
“People decide to have families and become parents, that’s something they need to consider when they make that choice,” Johnson said. “I’ve never really felt it was society’s responsibility to take care of other people’s children.”
Johnson says instead, it’s society’s responsibility to provide the opportunity for people to get good jobs to support their entire families.
