Glasgow

The Role

We are seeking a solicitor (ideally within the NQ to 4 years PQE range) to join our thriving commercial property team in Glasgow.

The position offers an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to develop skills and take their career to the next level. You will report to Joanne Ockrim, partner. The team of which Joanne is part have a very strong client base comprising major corporate clients and successful family businesses all with a need for excellent service and bespoke property advice. The team works for a number of those clients in England and Wales as well as Scotland and the role would be well suited to anyone who is dual qualified or has aspirations to achieve that goal.

You will also have the opportunity to support other partners in the Glasgow office specialising in investment property deals, telecoms and insolvency.

The wider commercial property team provides the full range of real estate services involving properties in Scotland as well as in England and Wales.

Our firm is committed to fostering a culture of excellence combined with enjoyment. Whilst team members are expected to work hard and collaboratively on projects to achieve deadlines, provide a great service and be technically excellent, we recognise the social value to work and the importance of a good work-life balance.

General and bespoke training will be provided to develop your technical skills and your commercial awareness.

Hybrid Working

With the benefit of our experience throughout  the pandemic we have now approved and are implementing our hybrid working policy.  This will entitle the successful candidate to work at home for part of any working week, should they so desire. We will provide I.T. equipment to allow you to do so and we have established a system for balancing the needs of the business to allow all employees the opportunity  to work within a blended model.

The Candidate

Commercial property experience is desirable but not essential. You should demonstrate a commitment to providing an excellent level of client service, show initiative, have a positive attitude and have personal ambitions to develop your skills for career development. You should be able to build rapport and communicate positively and effectively with clients, other legal representatives and other involved parties. You should also, of course, be prepared to work using your own initiative on a portfolio of transactions, be focused on time management and operate to deadlines.

Our firm is willing to support individuals who want to add to their professional qualifications so as to make themselves and the team more marketable. Ideally, candidates should be enthusiastic to develop their own and the firm‘s networks, with a view to assisting in business development.
