Solomon May III passed away on July 7th 2021, just three days after turning 45, following a long illness.
Solomon was born July 4th, 1976, to Solomon Jr. and Marilyn May. He married his teenage sweetheart and together they made a beautiful life raising a family for the last 27 years. Solomon is survived by his eternally loving wife, Lynette; their beautiful daughters and lights of his life, Sheyenne and Natalie, and his lad, Atticus, who was the best buddy and adventure partner a father could ever ask for. His children will always be his greatest gift to the world and the truest examples of his unwavering devotion and love of being a father.
Solomon’s family meant the world to him. He leaves behind his loving mother, Marilyn May; and his two younger sisters, Kylie May and April Meyer, along with her husband John; and his nephew and niece, Nolan and Nora, who adored and looked up to him. He was predeceased by his father, Solomon May Jr., who he respected greatly and cared for in his final years. He also has many close in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who he cared for immensely. Solomon is also survived by so many close friends that he shared the love of music and the outdoors with. Larger than life with a warm smile, he was known as a quiet gentleman who loved to share what he was passionate about. He held with such importance the nurturing of his friendships and the friendships of his children; there was always room at Solomon’s table and in his heart. He loved the tribe his family created together and he shared his wisdom, humor and love with everyone.
To know Solomon was to understand how deeply he cared for people and he spent 10 years of his career at Lexington and Saratoga Bridges doing just that even years later he was still connected to those he cared for.
Starting in his youth he found a love for the Adirondacks and spent his life fishing, hiking, and exploring. He has passed this love and knowledge to his family and friends.
Throughout his illness he was a true example of strength, positivity, and inspiration. He never gave up, he was an amazing advocate for himself and his family.
In memory and in honor of Solomon, his family wishes that you sign and encourage everyone you know to sign a donor card, and give the gift of life.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge Street, Northville, where a service will follow at 12 noon. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.northvillefuneralservice.com.
