The Brisbane owners of a heritage-listed home will be forced to pay thousands in damages after the home suddenly collapsed into their neighbour’s property.
Tradesmen doing renovation work on the home escaped just minutes before the house in Sherwood, in the city’s south-west, toppled sideways last week.

The airborne home is seen crashing into the pristine white weatherboards of the house opposite, smashing a window and damaging the facade.
The heritage house will remain tilted at a precarious angle as investigations are launched into the cause of the shock collapse.
The owners will be forced to cough-up thousands in damages as their neighbours are asked to relocate until their damaged home is structurally safe, 9NEWS reports.
It’s understood several days of heavy rain experienced during the floods earlier this month could have softened the earth and made the home unstable.
An internal investigation has been launched by Ashforth Constructions with Workplace Health and Safety to make their own inquiries.
The next-door property has been left with a splintered wall while the heritage home remains titled at a precarious angle (pictured)
