The “rare” opportunity to buy a home on one of the city’s most “sought after” streets has come up.

A five bedroom town house has come on the market in Falkner Street which is described as being the “jewel in the crown” of Liverpool’s Georgian quarter.

The five-storey property, that is just a stone’s throw away from popular restaurants and boutiques, is listed for sale at £799,950.

Terraced properties sold for an average of £388,000, with semi-detached properties fetching £435,000.

Overall, sold prices in the Georgian Quarter over the last year were 20% up on the previous year but 20% down on the 2015 peak of £335,685.

However townhouses such as the Falkner Street listing, very rarely come on the market.

With that in mind, the average house price over the last year is unlikely to include the sale of many townhouses of this size.

This home has also been ‘extensively refurbished’ according to estate agents City Residential.

The complete restoration was completed in 2015 and included double glazed replacement sash windows.

‘Stunning’ character features throughout the property have also been reinstated, such as detailed coving, ceiling roses and architraves.

Images of the property show that a traditional tiled entrance leads onto a hallway and the main through lounge.

This leads onto a modern fully fitted kitchen and dining room.

The kitchen and dining room benefit from access to the garden, on the lower level of the property. The ground floor also has a toilet.

Two double bedrooms make up the first floor, while a further two double bedrooms can be found on the second level.

Bedrooms on the second level boast separate bath and shower rooms.

The top floor is home to the fifth bedroom which has its own en-suite bathroom.

Outside a paved tiered garden has enough space for multiple seating, entertaining and barbecuing areas.

The City Residential listing reads: “A rare opportunity to purchase a stunning Georgian townhouse in one of the most sought after streets in the city.
