Cases of COVID-19 remain low in the Mahoning Valley, with 17 new cases reported Monday by the Ohio Department of Health.

Cases continue to fall statewide, with 255 reported in Ohio, compared to the 268 reported Sunday.

In Trumbull County on Monday, cases were at 16,492, an increase of nine from the day before.

Mahoning County has 22,270 confirmed cases, which is seven more than Sunday.

Columbiana County added one new case, bringing its total to 9,001.

Deaths are reported Tuesdays and Fridays. Those numbers are: 478 for Trumbull County, 595 in Mahoning County and 229 in Columbiana County.

There have been 19,980 deaths statewide.

Trumbull County has reported 1,201 hospitalizations; Mahoning, 1,065 hospitalizations; Columbiana, 500 hospitalizations.

Statewide, there have been 59,603 hospitalizations.

A presumed 1,071,009 Ohioans have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINATIONS

The ODH has reported as of Monday that 40.88 percent, or 4,778,091 people have completed their vaccinations. That is a 24-hour change of 14,302.

There have been 46.08 percent of the state’s population, or 5,386,144 people, who have started their vaccinations.

In Trumbull County, 73,870 people, or 37.31 percent, have completed their vaccinations, while 84,995 people, or 42.93 percent, have started the process.

In Mahoning County, 90,151 people, or 39.42 percent, have completed their vaccinations, while 102,366, or 44.76 percent, have started the process.

In Columbiana County, 32,529 people, or 32.91 percent, have completed vaccinations, while 37,171 or 36.48 percent, have started the process.
