West End performer Carrie Hope Fletcher is set to head out on her first-ever solo UK tour in 2023.

The 29-year-old actress, currently appearing as the lead role in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella at London’s Gillian Lyne Theatre, will hit the road in May and June 2023 to play a series of shows for fans around the country.

The tour – rather fittingly named Carrie Hope Fletcher – An Open Book as the star has also authored several books – will see Carrie perform songs from her previous shows, including Heathers, Les Misérables and The Addams Family, alongside more music and chat.

On the 11-date tour, Carrie will visit a range of concert halls and theatres around the UK, such as Birmingham’s Symphony Hall and the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh.

She will also play at the London Palladium on May 25.

Speaking about next year’s tour, Carrie said she was ‘absolutely thrilled’ at the prospect.

‘This is something I have wanted to do for some time and next year presents the perfect opportunity,’ she shared.

‘I absolutely adore being on stage and am fortunate to have performed across the West End and overseas, but there’s something very special about theatres around the UK so I can’t wait to get out on the road and visit these absolutely fantastic and beautiful venues.’

The actress, who has a big online following thanks to her popular YouTube channel, appeared in West End productions of Mary Poppins, Les Misérables and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as a youngster, and has since returned as an adult to play both Eponine and Fantine in Les Misérables to great acclaim and Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Carrie, who has three WhatsOnStage awards to her name, released her debut album, When the Curtain Falls, in 2018.

She also popped up during 2021’s series of Strictly Come Dancing, when her McFly star brother Tom Fletcher dedicated his routine in Musicals Week to her.

Alongside professional partner Amy Dowden, Tom performed a Couple’s Choice routine to On My Own from Les Misérables, a song which Carrie has sung countless times during her career to date.

In the VT ahead of the routine, while speaking to Carrie with Amy, Tom broke down in tears over how much it meant to him to dedicate the performance to his sibling.

Following their dance, Tom was then stunned to be treated to a surprise message of support from A-List mate Russell Crowe, who stare as vindicative police officer Javert in the 2012 film adaptation and had forged an unexpected friendship with Tom several years ago.

Cinderella composer Sir Andrew was a firm critic of the government’s self-isolation rules and decision to shut down theatres as he pushed to open his new show last summer, even threatening legal action and saying he was willing to be arrested in order to re-open venues as normal.
