What a £2m property looks like in Cardiff compared to across the world

One of the most expensive properties in Cardiff costs almost the same as a three-bedroom flat in London and a lake-side villa in Italy.

We compared what a £2m home looks like in Cardiff and other popular holiday destinations including London, Greece, and Thailand.

All properties are, of course, luxurious. From a farmhouse surrounded by green fields on the edge of Cardiff to a grand villa with its own outdoor pool in Barcelona, these houses have plenty to offer.

All properties are currently listed on Rightmove.

What a £2m property looks like in Cardiff

Six-bedroom farmhouse, Thornhill

Wenallt Farm is a beautiful six-bedroom farmhouse located in an idyllic valley setting. Just minutes away from Cardiff’s northern suburbs, the farmhouse is set within a 45 acre equestrian smallholding, which is divided into paddocks with some wooded areas – it even includes an outdoor riding school.

With a patio, garden and orchard, the property has plenty of outdoor space, as well as a converted cow shed which can serve as a guest studio or working space.

What a £2m property looks like in London

Three-bedroom apartment, Holland Park

This three-bedroom flat occupies the top floor of a Grade II listed Victorian villa in the sought-after Holland Park, near Kensington and Notting Hill.

The advert says that the flat requires “full refurbishment, offering the incoming purchaser the opportunity to create a home in their own style and taste.”

With views over the garden and grass tennis courts, the flat offers three bedrooms, a reception room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom.

It is one of many properties in the city listed for £2m, and is on the market with Winkworth.

Five-bedroom terrace, Fulham

Listed at the same price as the Holland Park apartment is this five-bedroom terraced house in Fulham.

All bedrooms are double bedrooms, and the house also features a double reception room and two bathrooms. The rooms are set across three floors, with the ground floor leading out onto a garden.

The property has retained some of its period features, and is a short walk from Eel Brook Common. It is one of many properties in London on sale for £2m, and is on the market with Chestertons.

What a £2m property looks like in Spain

Six-bedroom villa, Maresme Coast

This six-bedroom villa on the Maresme Coast has five bathrooms, a garage with space for six cars, a Koi pond and a salt water pool.

The garden has approximately 50 palm trees, as well as lemon, peach, and pear trees. The house is divided into three floors, with a lift that connects the basement to the top floor.

The property’s living room provides views over the garden and the sea, while the lower ground floor features a gym, storage room and a kitchen and massage room.

Four-bedroom townhouse, Mallorca

What a £2m property looks like in Italy

Four-bedroom house, Lake Como

For just under £2m in Italy, you could get this villa with parkland and a swimming pool in Lake Como.

Set in 2.5 acres of land, the villa overlooks Lake Como and has its own guest house. It also has a large garden, space for three cars, and a portico with a wood oven and BBQ.

The property is set over two floors with some open living spaces, large windows, exposed wooden beams and a stone fireplace.

It is on the market with Savills.

25-bedroom villa, Tuscany

This expansive villa in Tuscany is set in an estate with outbuildings, farm buildings, two lakes and a woodland area.

Gates open onto a private drive that leads to a neo-Gothic style villa that is set over three floors. The property features mosaic floors and fresco ceilings but is “requiring restoration” according to the advert.

The property was one of the largest pig farms in Tuscany, the advert states, and has 19 farm buildings, a mill house, and a private chapel on site, as well as staff quarters upstairs in the villa.
