One of the UK’s leading franchise network of estate agents, Winkworth, continues its expansion in the south west with the opening of a new office which will capitalise on the booming Dorset property market.

The branch in Ferndown will be the second office opening in two years for franchisee, James Hadley-Clift, following on from the Southbourne office on the outskirts of Bournemouth in early 2020. It takes the total number of Winkworth offices in Dorset to seven.

He will be joined by business partner, Rosella Short, who is moving back to the area after five years working for a leading London agency.

James, who has 10 years’ experience working in the Ferndown area, says the Dorset property market is ripe for buyers moving from London as well as existing residents: “There is great demand from people moving from the capital but there is also strong demand locally, with around 50 per cent of buyers from the local area. Property in and around Ferndown offers tremendous value when compared to Wimborne, for example.”

The new Winkworth office stands on a prominent road junction in Ferndown, Dorset’s second largest inland town, with good access to Wimborne and Ringwood, as well as Bournemouth and Poole. Properties on offer range from detached bungalows suiting downsizers and retirees to family properties offering good value, with four bedroom houses with a good garden priced between £400,000 and £600,000.

Dominic Agace, Chief Executive at Winkworth, added: “The county’s beautiful landscape and its coastline continue to appeal to people who are seeking a change of lifestyle and the past year has turbocharged that desire to move. We now have a substantial presence in Dorset and the Ferndown opening reinforces our ambitions for further expansion in the South-west.”
